The LS-7 lifter has been a go-to upgrade for many boosted LS combinations, and was designed by GM to be incorporated into performance engine builds and utilizes improved valving for higher RPM capability. These are NOT the more commonly-found (and cheaper) HL2148 lifters or their offshore-manufactured knock-offs!These Chevrolet Performance hydraulic roller lifters can be used as direct replacements for your LS engine or as a great solution for an AFM delete on an L99, L76, or even a Gen5 LT engine. These are also a great replacement part for any older SBC that uses a factory hydraulic-roller lifter.
Recommended preload is between .050 - .100
Don't forget to also replace the lifter trays! These revised-design GM 12595365 lifter trays are for Gen III and Gen IV LS (NON-DOD Engines). It is recommended to replace them when you are changing lifters as they become brittle and can let the lifters 'spin'.
