Carburetors and Carb HatsCarb blow-through technology is advancing all the time and carbs are really good right now.
The PRO's and CON's of blow-through carbs:
PRO's
1) Carbs are very easy. I have several tuning videos available which cover the the fine-tuning of carbs but basically they tune like a normal carb. If you plan on making over 800 HP dont attempt it on your own - it's not worth it.
2) Carbs will make really good power, (mine made 2300 HP on a single). They start and drive just like a normal N/A carb.
CON's
1) Carbs never have had or will have the fine-tuning ability of EFI. Your carb will never start or do part-throttle like a EFI system.
2) Carbs work on a pressure differential, it has to have a pressure drop across the carb to work and the more the boost and air flow the higher the differential. IE, a blow-through that makes 30 PSI in the manifold will make around 34 PSI with EFI.
Overall I love the carbs, it is not rocket science so don't over complicate them. Make sure you have the best carb hat possible and make sure the fuel system is 100%. Look on the fuel system pages for our recommendations.
